Participate in practice for the first time

I kept in touch with veteran team captain Carl and participated in rugby practice for the first time in early December 2005. Veterans practice starts at 7:30 and younger ones start at 8:30. I thought I needed time to change clothes and warm up, so I went to the ground early around 6:30.
A rugby school for little children is held at the ground, and people of my age were chatting in front of the changing room. Some people aren't very big, and I was wondering if I could enjoy it with these people.

Around 7:30, Captain Carl appeared, greeted me, and entered the changing room together. Carl, an Englishman, was very young and very solid, and he was by all means 40 years old. There were already about 20 people in the changing room, but all of them seemed to be in their 30s, and I thought that young people had already come and changed their clothes.

When I changed my clothes and went outside, all the people of my age were parents of children and people who came to pick me up and went home.

I asked Carl how old the veteran team was. He replied, "Over 35 years old." I asked, "Are there any older teams?" Carl says, "There is no limit, everyone is doing it together."

Carl brought the ball and gave me a pass, so when I returned the pass, the ball turned around and turned into a pass that was like a beginner throwing. Recent balls are made of rubber and have small round protrusions to prevent them from slipping, which are caught too much and rotate. This is the first time I've touched a ball like this.

Carl  asked me about my rugby experience, so I said I was playing in a high school, college, and adult club team and the position was in the Bucks center. It was. But Carl seemed to think I was a beginner and he taught me a lot about how to pass.

My rugby in Spain has begun.
