Play the first rugby match in Spain

On April 6, 2006, I participated in the fourth rugby practice. By this time, many people seemed to know that I was 60 years old. Everyone asked me for my name and I said "Yuji", but they didn't seem to remember it, so they called me Sushi or Suji, a mixture of sushi and Yuji.

On Saturday, April 8th, there was a veteran team match, so about 16 members got together and sweated with the usual stretching and touch rugby, then went to the German bar again and I had a cola. I drank it.

Before the practice, Carl told the new Frenchman Philip (a senior at the Sitges Rugby Club who participated in the practice for the first time that day) that he was the youngest member of the practice. I said and introduced it. He was surprised to hear my true age at the bar.

However, he was pleased that it was wonderful to be able to play rugby with them at the age of 60, and was asked to play in the match. "On the 8th, my wife Harumi is still against the match, but I want to run, so I will participate in the pre-match practice, but I will only watch it."

On the day of the match, I wore a uniform and participated in the practice together, but I declined the match. I really wanted to play in the match, but since there were more than 15 members, I thought it would be better for someone who belonged to the club before me to play in the match, and I felt uncomfortable with my legs, so it's still enough. I wasn't feeling well.

However, when it was half-time, Philip came again and invited me to play the match together because it was only necessary for the last 10 minutes, so I decided to go to the match. But shortly after the second half began, Karl called me and told me to do his left wing. I never touched the ball for the first 5 minutes or so. As my body loosened a little, I decided to move aggressively, and I was able to openly follow from the blind side and get involved in the ball twice. Both of these times led to a try from my pass.

The other party was planned to be a veteran team of a business school, but the members did not gather and it was a team of active students. I thought it wasn't very strong, but it seems that the match was lost by a small margin.

The game for the first time in almost 20 years was very satisfying.
